After a decade of creating through, around, and behind screens, I was craving a return to the analog - to make something real.

So, I bought a typewriter and drove across the country on a quest to reinvent my practice and process as an artist. I’m so excited to share what was born as a result of that journey: The Live Poet.
I bring poetry to weddings, fundraisers, events, and celebrations of all shapes and sizes - literally any gathering can benefit from being activated by live poetry! I write verse in real time, capturing the moments, emotions, and essence of the day as it unfolds through the typewriter onto the page. The resulting original poems are one-of-a-kind, intuitive, reflective. I’ve had poems speak to the very depths of who someone is, even though we only spoke for a moment before I began to write.
Live poems are a different kind of keepsake. These words preserve how the day actually felt to experience, not just how it looked (though my poems are visually beautiful and easily framed). Through the act of writing in service to others, we create a written archive of our contemporary experience through a human (not algorithmic) lens.

how
it works:
My process is entirely analogue, using typewriter and pen and paper, and begun with your own words. We talk. You tell me what's on your mind: a person you love, a moment you can't forget, something you're celebrating or grieving or remembering. I listen. Then I write.
The poem is yours to keep: handwritten or typed, personalized, unrepeatable.
Rather than rehearsed or polished or structured in any traditional, formal sense, this writing is alive, immediate, responsive. The result of presence and attention. A way of saying: your story matters, and here it is, reflected back in verse.
Live poetry turns an event into an experience. It slows time down, creates space for connection, reflection, and a little bit of magic.
